Robert Cannon has created Ecological Art by fusing concrete and plants together to create his series Living Concrete and Moss Sculptures. Terraforming by Cannon incorporates moss, sedum, and various plant properties and are inserted where concrete joints meet. To keep the plants alive, Cannon created intricate irrigation canals within each sculpture. Terraforming is the concept of making objects Earth-like. Cannon believes, “We’ve got to forget Post-Modernism; the Modernism isn’t dead, Ecological Art is the next chapter of its evolution and will be seen as the great artistic stream of this century.” Like what you’re reading?
